Is 2/6 greater than 4/3?
To compare two fractions, such as 2/6 and 4/3, there are two main common methods: the first one involves finding a common denominator, and the other one is to convert the fractions directly into decimal values.
1) Using the same denominator
- Multiply the numerator of the first fraction with the denominator of the second fraction: 2 × 3 = 6
 - Multiply the numerator of the second fraction with the denominator of the first fraction 4 × 6 = 24
 - Multiply the denominators of both fractions together: 6 × 3 = 18
 - Rewrite both fractions with the new common denominator:

- 2/6 = 6/18
 - 4/3 = 24/18

With a common denominator, the comparison becomes much simpler.
Since 6 is smaller than 24, we can conclude that 2/6 is less than 4/3.
2) Converting to decimal
We can also simply convert the fractions into decimal values:
- 2 divided by 6 is equal to 0.33333333333333
 - 4 divided by 3 is equal to 1.3333333333333

Since 0.33333333333333 is smaller than 1.3333333333333, it means that 2/6 is less than 4/3.
